EXORCIZPHOBIA album “Digitotality”…(7 December 2020, self-release)
And here we have one of the best European thrash metal albums of 2020. Exorcizphobia from Czech Republic, who have been active since 2005 are back with their third full album “Digitotality” that bangs our heads!
Fitting in with the great thrash records of the late ‘80s, this also combines some fierce thrash riffing, smooth transitions with different tones and rhythms, packed with some really outstanding vocals. They are really impressive on how they lay everything out so perfectly.
Let’s start with the obvious thrash hymns that still let the earlier influences display themselves. “Desires of The Flesh” and “Corporate Dance” pair up as the hardest hitting duo that would be included in the albums of some of the biggest thrash bands like Megadeth and Overkill!. It’s pretty obvious when you listen to these two monsters that they can become the signature tracks from that album, and the two that people will think most after listening to this great stuff.
On the next songs, you have a similar approach that keeps the level really high. “Digitotality” is the title-track of the album and it turns out really fast and aggressive and will totally break you down. “Profit At All Cost” has a psychedelic and prog attitude but it remains thrashy at the same time. It sounds like an hybrid of Anthrax, Voivod and Megadeth!
There is no time to rest, as this album is pure energy. The rest 4 songs give us some more great moments and the band seems to mix thrash Metal with other genres of Metal, even prog and black metal!
Although this is really difficult about thrash metal as a genre, the songs didn’t have any similarities in structures here and there.. Everything here was done perfectly and was arranged in a wise way by Exorcizphobia. There are very few albums from other thrash metal bands in 2020 that had reached this quality in terms of power, speed, and originality!
