BLACK STONE

FEATURE

While filming absent civil servants, a documentary crew stumbles upon Haroula, a desperate, overprotective Greek mother in search of her son. But when he is accused of fraud, Haroula sets out with her other disabled son and a Greek-African taxi driver to bring him back home where he belongs. Even if this means discovering who her son really is.

Following the screening, we will be joined in discussion by the film’s director and by other members of the creative team. Film director Spiros Jacovides was born in London and studied Directing at Stavrakou College after having completed his Film Studies degree from the London College of Printing. In 1998 he became a guest student at the acclaimed German University of Berlin, DFFB. Since 2000, Jacovides worked as A.D. in various TV Commercials. Currently, he writes, produces, and directs TVCs, Web Ads, Short Docs, Corporate videos, and Video Clips. He has written and directed three short films. “Black Stone” is his first feature film.
