The Daughters of Penelope Pallas Athena Vienna just had their first Vassilopita ever, 9 months after their founding and it was a blast! Sisters, friends, family and supporters, along with our dear Pater Ioannis of the Metropolis von Austria / Ἱερὰ Μητρόπολις Αὐστρίας, Mr. Georgos Lymperis, of the Greek Embassy Botschaft von Griechenland in Wien – Greece in Austria, Mrs Zografia Pipinou of the Λύκειο Ελληνίδων Βιέννης and other members of Greek societies all joined us for a warm and spirited time together, celebrating the New Year!
Juan Carlos Paniagua our fabulously talented Columbian musician and singer (who also sings and speaks quite a bit of Greek) added the perfect touch to a lively Sunday afternoon! There were two coins won and they received gifts from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra!
We thank all for attending and for their quick humor and encouraging wishes for many years of successful projects. We continue supporting the homeless women of shelter Ester in Vienna and are preparing our coming panel discussion on prevention, diagnosis and treatments of women’s cancers in March!
Next week brings us to a Daughters of Penelope Vienna celebration and initiation at the Louis Salvator Gesellschaft Exhibition dedicated to stunning Zakynthos!
Founding this Daughters of Penelope chapter 459 Pallas Athena Vienna last March was one of the most courageous and fulfilling endeavors I have ever experienced!
