Eighth Sustainability Summit for SE Europe & the Mediterranean
Re-inventing green leadership: Collectivity vs fragmentation?

HRH Crown Prince Pavlos participated in the Eighth Sustainability Summit for SE Europe & the Mediterranean, organized by Economist Impact in partnership with SDSN Greece, which took place on October 14 and 15, 2024, in Athens.

Prince Pavlos in his capacity as a member of the BoD of the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, organized the panel of speakers on “Investing in ESG (Education Focused on Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance” – ESG) and its benefits.

The topic was raised together with Prince Pavlos by Mr. Peter Mara, Dean of The Earth Commons, Institute of Environment and Sustainability of Georgetown University, Mrs. Areti Roditi, mandate manager of European Investment Fund (EIF) and Mr. Julien Beaumont, partner at Shift4Good, the largest venture capital organization investing in the decarbonisation of the transport sector.

As Prince Pavlos mentioned during the discussion “…In the last fifteen years the importance of sustainable development in relation to the business environment has been a global goal and education in this direction is an immediate priority. Following closely and with great interest all these years, both the need of young people, but also the need of the business community for educational-investment programs I considered a unique opportunity to invite to a discussion three representatives: [one] from the European Investment Fund, [one] from the private investment sector and [one] from the education sector, with the aim of further analysis, but also to generate interest in education and the environment.”

This conference was an excellent opportunity for the speakers to discuss and analyze to the audience the ways of achieving this goal.
